How to make a chord overlay video for YouTube in 10 minutes

Chord overlays help viewers play along without pausing the video. The trick is getting every chord change to land exactly on the beat.

Start by dropping your track into the Studio. ChordFlow listens to the audio and suggests a progression automatically, placing chord cards on the timeline.

Next, play the track and review each card. Drag cards to adjust timing, or click one to pick a different chord. Turn on beat snapping so changes stay locked to the grid.

Pick a theme — the YouTube preset is designed to sit cleanly over the bottom of your footage — then export. The video is rendered frame by frame, so timing is exact.

Import the exported file into your editor as an overlay layer, and you're done.
